On 16 December 2014 (Tuesday), The Confucius Tea House as part of a lecture series was first organized by SZTE Confucius Institute at the Rector’s Office! This lecture was such a great success that even the organizers did not expect such a great surprise.
On 27 December 2014, at 4 p.m., partner school directors and teachers were invited to a round table discussion organized by SZTE Confucius Institute. The main aim of the discussion was to share common experiences, own thoughts and ideas about the work of this semester of the year.
Sánta Máté, student of SZTE Confucius Institute, was awarded second prize on the so-called “China 360° Blogger” competition organized by Eurasian Cooperation Association (EAFA). Between the summer of 2014 and spring of 2015, the competition period is divided into four.

On 15th December, graduation ceremony was held at the Faculty of Law at University of Szeged in which Dr. Cao Hang Chinese director and Mohr Richárd Hungarian director participated.
On 5 December 2014, 5 o’clock in the afternoon, Xue Yanping’s book entitled „21 g love” was introduced at Libri Bookshop in Szeged, where the guests could learn more about the book and about its background from the writer personally. Dr. Cao Hang, director at SZTE Confucius Institute, led a conversation with the writer.

The Balassi Institute held its regular two days long Conference of Guest Intructors in the 25th of August. The Conference is a forum of the most notable professors for the instrumentality of Hungarology and the Hungarian language itself. This was the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Network of Guest Instructors and the directors of the SZTE Confucius Institute were invited to give a lecture about the way China builds it’s educational and cultural grid/network through the Confucius Instituties.
On the 17th of June, the exhibition Escape to Shanghai: Shanghai and the Jewish refugees – Pál Komor, the Hungarian diplomat, the savior of Jews officially opened to the public in the co-organization of the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged and the Budapest History Museum, enriching the programs in Szeged of the Year of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
The next conference of Confucius Institutes’’ was held in Dublin from 15 June to 17 June 2014. Liu Yunshan, member of the CCP Political Committee, Ruairi Quinn, Irish Educational Minister, and Xu Lin, the director of Hanban, had participated in the opening ceremony.
On 29 May, Thursday morning, SZTE Confucius Institute had visited Tömörkény István High School and Cultural Vocational School, then on 13 June, Friday morning, where high school students could get acquainted with Chinese language and culture, and in addition, they could find out that nowadays why is it worth to study Chinese language.
On 23rd May, Round-table Discussion for Central-Eastern European Rectors, Confucius Institutes and Sinologist was held in Zagreb.

The Hungarian semi-final of the 13th Chinese Bridge Competition – University Student’s Language Competition took place on the 9th of May, organized on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Hungary by the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged and the Kodolányi János College in Budapest.
Dr. P. Szabó Sándor is the director of the Chinese Public Administration-, Economics-, and Social Research Center at the National University of Public Service, technical director at the School of Far-Eastern Languages.
Within the confines of the lecture, Liu Zhi, chef at the Chinese Great Wall restaurant, tries to describe and give an account of the nearly 5000 years old Far-East gastro culture.
The nine staff members of the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged have also been interested in the Hungarian Easter traditions. For this reason they have visited the Egg Workshop in Algyő, where they had the opportunity to try out the usage of a special tool for painting eggs called ’íróka’ and to make painted eggs. In the meantime, we have learnt the Chinese word for egg: jidan.
On April the 8th the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged organized a Chinese Cultural Day at its education center in Budapest, the Kodolányi János College in the framework of the International Week program.

Ping-Pong masters were invited to Szeged by SZTE Confucius Institute, in order to teach the rules and techniques of Ping-Pong, which is known to be one of the most popular ball games in China.

On 22nd March, Saturday, the colleagues of SZTE Confucius Institute were invited by the Creative House of Algyő and also by the Institute’s students in order to participate in the local Egg workshop program, where the teachers could get more acquainted with the Hungarian Eastern customs and traditions.
