Shanghai has now established itself not just as an icon of modernity but also as an attitude to life, a brand of lifestyle, and a sign of fashion with its development and transformation in the past 30 years. The lecture will reveal delicately (via stories and pictures) the nostalgic flavor and the bustling metropolis of Shanghai.

In Addition to her academic research work in second language acquisition and corpus linguistics, Dr. Zhang is interested in cultures. Dr. Zhang has a rich studying-abroad experience and she traveled to many countries especially the English-speaking countries, which has provided her rich perspectives to see the comparison and contrast between Chinese culture and Western cultures.
