In November 2, 2021, the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee for Institute of Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual Education in Szeged, led by Judit Plesovszkiné Ujfaluczki, Director of the Szeged Education District Center, was held with strict epidemiological regulations.
The Coordination Center for the Development of Tourism Relations between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Budapest Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China (CNTO Budapest) have developed and launched a 4-part online education series on China tourism.

The Hungarian final of the 20th Chinese Bridge Chinese Language Competition for foreign university students was held on the afternoon of May 28, 2021, and the following day the Hungarian final of the 14th Chinese Bridge Chinese Language Competition for high school students was organized on the morning of May 29, 2021.
We are pleased to report that the International and Regional Studies Institute at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged (SZTE ÁJTK) launches its Chinese specialization in the already existing Master Program in International Studies starting from the fall semester of the academic year of 2021/2022. On 15 January 2021, after many years of effort and hard work, the Education Authority of Hungary successfully accepted all the application materials required for the accreditation procedure.
The series of landscape painting lectures continues. Landscape painting is perhaps one of the best-known topics of Chinese painting themes. Traditionally, monochrome, large-format images created with ink always have a mountain or stone /rock that symbolizes permanence, and also some form of water (spring, stream, waterfall, lake, river ...) that represents constant change. The landscape, depicted with complex symbols, tells stories with intricate line aesthetics, the mysteries of which are guided by the artist, Janisz Horváth.
Annual accounts and preparations for the forthcoming year were held online by the European Confucius Institutes. The leaders of the University of Szeged also took part in the meeting. We learned that the only Chinese online language exam in the country was held at the SZTE Confucius Institute in Szeged.
This year in December, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged organizes a „Chinese Talent Show” which is the national preliminary round contest for the forthcoming Chinese Bridge Competition in 2021.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at SZTE and the Economic Committee of SZAB is pleased to announce that the book entitled “Business culture in Japan, China and Korea” written by Richard Mohr, Gábor Osváth will be introduced at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
For many years now, we have been hosting hundreds of children on Panda Day, which was organized on the occasion of Children's Day on the terrace of the Giraffe House in the Zoo of Szeged.
As it was not possible to organize a paper-based language exam during the state of emergency, only the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged in Hungary provided an opportunity for Chinese language examinees to take online YCT and HSK language exams from their own homes. This type of exam organized for the first time in the world in May 2020 was successfully organized by the staff of our Institute, which finally took place on June 28, 2020 (Sunday).

Due to the great success of the Chinese Bamboo Ink Painting Workshop, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged organizes a Plum-tree flower Ink Painting Workshop at the Szent-Györgyi Albert Agora in Szeged.
At 6 o’clock on the evening of October 29th (local time), the cultural exchange of “2018 Embrace China: Chongqing Cultural Week” was held at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Szeged, Hungary. The activities were divided into two parts: the exhibition of Chongqing intangible cultural heritage and the traditional Chinese folk music performance. The audience from the Szeged area felt the charm of China’s intangible cultural heritage and was enchanted by the colorful Chinese traditional music.

A bright moon is shining over the sea, a moment of happy reunion the world over (a line from a poem by ZHANG Jiuling, 678-740). In order to celebrate the Chinese traditional festival of the Mid-Autumn Festival and spread Chinese culture to the local populace, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged (SZTE CI) in Hungary organized a series of varied and colorful cultural activities, with a positive result.

YCT language exam on 17 November 2018 at SZTE Confucius Institute
This is the second time that SZTE Confucius Institute organizes YCT Chinese language exam for children under the age of 14. The date of the exam is 17 November 2018.
SZTE Confucius Institute welcomes everyone to Confucius Day. The event has two parts. Firstly, from 3 p.m., our guests can take part in different kind of activities where everyone can learn more about China and its culture.
Together with our friends and students, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged celebrates the arrival of autumn, the holiday of family and friendship on 25 September. According to Chinese traditions, the Moon is the most complete on the sky on this day. Chinese families get together at this time of the year to admire the shining full moon and eat some delicious mooncakes.

On September 1st, the annual International Fish Soup Festival was held on the Tisa River in Szeged.
The purpose of the “One Belt And One Road” in My Eyes Essay and Speech Contest is to provide Hungarian college students with an opportunity to share their own fabulous stories with “One Belt And One Road” and create a platform for communication and exchange of ideas. In order to enhance the understanding of the “One Belt And One Road” and gain better promotion and inheritance of the “One Belt And One Road” initiative.
Local time August 27th to 30th, in the registration week of the University of Szeged in Hungary, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged (SZTE CI) held a series of Chinese cultural experience activities on the first floor of the University Library, aiming to motivate more Hungarian college students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture, and actively participate in Chinese studies at Confucius Institutes.

Due to the foundation of Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged, in the last five years, many thousands of people from the Southern region of Hungary had the chance to get familiar with the oldest civilizations to have ever existed in the world which is Chinese language and culture.
