This is the first time when the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged organizes a Chinese Bamboo Ink Painting Workshop at the Szent-Györgyi Agora in Szeged.
Our course instructor is Janisz Horváth who is a calligraphy artist. Workshops are once in a fortnight starting from 10 October (Wednesday) at 17:15-18:45.
The course starts with bamboo painting, which is the symbol of long life and perseverance in Chinese culture. The brush’s handle is made of bamboo, and chronical texts had been written on bamboo stripes in ancient times. Besides the flexible stem of this evergreen plant, the painting of long leaves was always a favorite theme in Chinese ink painting.
