On 16 December, 2015 (Wednesday) morning the preschoolers of our newest partner institution, the Nádor Utcai Kindergarten came to visit our Institute, because they wanted to get to know where does Wang Yao, their Chinese teacher and her colleagues from the Institute work.
From Nov. 20-27 2015, Zhang Changhong, professor at the Shanghai International Studies University came to Szeged to give two interesting lecture to the Hungarian audience.
On the 24th of November, 2015 the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged participated at the open day of the Eötvös József Elementary and High School.
The Chinese Movie Week, organized by the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China (SAPPRFT), and co-organized by the Belvárosi Cinema and the H-Forest Media was officially opened on 7th November.

The Confucius Tea House was organized again in 20th October, 2015. At the event the audience had chance to look into the the three former scholarship winner students’ life in China between 2014-2015.
Two of our lecture in October – “The Picture of your Mind: Chinese Ink Painting”, and the “Calligraphy as the Records of History: Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Cutting” – were unfortunately cancelled. We are very sorry about it!

On 28 September 2015, the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged welcomed everyone at the Mid-Autumn Festival, which was organized at the Szent-Györgyi Albert Agóra.
The art troupe of Beijing Foreign Studies University will come to Szeged on 28 Sept. 2015. Their aim is to impress the audience with their special show. The alumni of the University have more than 400 ambassadors, nearly 1,000 counselors and about 100 ministers. The art troupe of Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Confucius Institute will cooperate to provide a fantastic show.
On 5th September 2015, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged participated already for the third time at the Fish Soup Festival. According to the traditions the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute waited everyone who likes the oriental cousine and those who are interested in the Chinese culture.

The host of the event was Mohr Richárd, Hungarian director of Confucius Institute at University of Szeged.

21st April 2015 (Tuesday) Chinese delegation of Sochoow University had an official visit at the University of Szeged which was organized by SZTE Confucius Institute.
Such official documents were signed in the presence of Szijjártó Péter Hungarian Foreign Minister that designates the additional future tasks of SZTE Confucius Institute. During the Confucius Tea House Szijjártó Péter Minister and Ujhelyi István Representative of the European Parliament has a talk about Hungarian-Chinese relations and in particular about the role of Szeged and of the University of Szeged.

On Sunday afternoon, both the people of Szeged and Chinese could welcome the year of the goat on an event organized by SZTE Confucius Institute in Szent-Györgyi Albert Agora. The guests were welcomed by lion dance, calligraphy exhibition and with martial arts show. Moreover a multimedia equipment, which was offered to the city of Szeged by SZTE Confucius Institute, was also given as a present.
Chinese New Year or Moon Year (Chinese: Chunjie, „Spring Festival”) is the biggest celebration for 1/4 of the world’s population. The time of the Spring festival – similarly to our Eastern – changes year by year. Thanks to the event organized by SZTE Confucius Institute guests can learn more about this holiday on Sunday afternoon in Szeged.
Mahjong (麻将) also known as Chinese domino originates from China. The game was only played at the court of the emperor until the fall of the Imperial House. After that it became widespread throughout the country, and then it was very popular both in Europe and in the US as well. Mahjong is a four player game which is very often related to Rummy. Mahjong is not only a free time activity in China, but it is also used as a method to examine the employee’s, fiancé’s and partner’s skills and smartness.
On 27 January, Confucius Tea House was second time organized by SZTE Confucius Institute and Szeged Coffee House. The guests could listen to an interesting lecture while drinking traditional Chinese tea. The lecturer was Kusai Sándor former Beijing Ambassador who was talking with Mohr Richárd director of SZTE Confucius Institute.

On 17 January 2015, Saturday 9 a.m., the colleagues of SZTE Confucius Institute and Makó Primray School were happy to welcome the future students of the school with a great variety of games. The children could have a little insight to Chinese culture, while the parents were informed about Chinese language studying.
On 16 January 2015, Friday morning, a China Day was organized at József Attila High School in Makó by SZTE Confucius Institute. The primary aim of the program was to inform the students about Chinese culture, and also, about the possibility of Chinese language learning. During the day, the students were able to taste and make Chinese food, try traditional Chinese clothes and learn to eat with chopsticks.
On 13 January 2015, guests are kindly invited to join the newest movie night from 5 p.m. organized by SZTE Confucius Institute. This time a Hungarian-Chinese film drama will be introduced.
In response to the invitation of SZTE Confucius Institute, the delegation of Chinese Scholarships Council committee visited the University of Szeged. The object of the discussion between the members of the committee and the representatives of University of Szeged was about sending more Chinese students to Europe’s 8th best qualified University City, to Szeged.
