Local time August 27th to 30th, in the registration week of the University of Szeged in Hungary, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged (SZTE CI) held a series of Chinese cultural experience activities on the first floor of the University Library, aiming to motivate more Hungarian college students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture, and actively participate in Chinese studies at Confucius Institutes.
The cultural experience included the use of Chinese chopsticks, knitting hand ropes representing peace and luck, playing table tennis, fancy shuttlecock kicking, etc., attracting many college students, who showed great interest in and enthusiasm for Chinese and Chinese culture, and took photos with volunteer teachers.
On the afternoon of the 30th, SZTE CI held a cultural performance in the open-air plaza on the first floor of the University Library. At the beginning of the performance, Dr.Wang Lei, the Chinese Director of SZTE CI, delivered a speech. The performance kicked off in the melodious cucurbit playing "Three Inches from a Match in Heaven" and "Night of a Naval Harbour". Then SZTE CI volunteer teachers put on a Tai chi boxing show, a Tai Chi fan show and classical dance "Serenity". The performance attracted rounds of applause from the audience.
This was the debut of the eight Chinese language volunteer teachers who had recently joined SZTE CI. In the coming year, they will actively integrate themselves into the CI family, bringing to the full play their youthful writing enthusiasm to contribute to the spread of Chinese language and Chinese culture in Hungary.
