At the invitation of Confucius Institute at University of Szeged, the Golden Bear prize winner, Chinese film director and screenplay writer, Fei Xie has arrived to Szeged.
March 2017, he had a lecture at Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, after that, he spent almost a week in our town.
On 16th March, from 5 p.m. Mr Xie has spoken from the Chinese film industry’s past and present in the framework of Confucius Chatedra lecture series. Her interpreter was Viktória Váradi, who is currently doing her PhD at Film Academy in Beijing and she is Mr Xie’s student.
He was born on 14th August in 1942. He graduated at Film Academy in Beijing, where later he worked as a director as well. Between 1980 and 1988, he was chairman here. His films has received international recognitions. Among from them, the Black Snow has awarded in 1990, with Silver Bear prize in Berlinale, and the Woman from the lake of scented souls, has received Golden Bear prize on 43th International Film Festival in Berlin.
Nowadays, Mr Xie is still active, he works as a teacher and artistic consultant, assists young filmmakers. From 17th March to 19th, the Hungarian audience could see three films from Mr Xie (Mongolian tale, Song of Tibet, Woman from the lake of scented souls) in Chinese Filmdays, which surrended by huge interest.
