On Aug. 5th and 6th, staffs of Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged attended Szeged Lotus Day in Szegedi Tudományegyetem Füvészkert. In the festival, citizens could enjoy the shows of traditional Indian dance, spiritual world music, and oriental martial arts, or try the flavours of the Far East, Tibetan singing bowls, yoga, Thai massage and pottery.
The activities, Confucius Institute organized for the citizens, were Lotus fan making and Chinese knowledge quiz. Complete either task, one could get a special Chinese gift like Chinese knot.
On the festival, Richárd Mohr, Hungarian director at SZTE Confucius Institute, also introduced Confucius Institute to citizens and attracted many of them to ask more details about Chinese learning. This activity successfully promoted Szeged people’s understanding as well as the interest in Chinese culture.
