On April 7 2016, at 4.30 pm, and 5.00 pm, we welcome all who are interested in China Kaleidoscope series. In this month, we invited the ELTE Confucius Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Imre Hamar. His lecture’s theme: Khotan impact of Chinese Buddhism.
Khotan is an oasis town , which is located on the southern branch of the Silk Road, The place played an important role in the ongoing Silk Road trade. The Iranian-speaking population (a few thousand people) spreading Buddhism with great succsesses. The khotani culture disappeared due to the Islamic conquest thousands of years ago, however, Aurél Stein, managed to save a lot of relics from the desert during excavations.
Before the lecture, the Rectors Office takes place to another event, for Confucius Moments Photo exhibition’s opening ceremony. The pictures will represent the four Hungarian Confucius Institute's work and everyday life. The exhibition will be seen for two days.
