At 3th September 2016, from 10 o’clock the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged will transform the Fish Soup Festival into an international event. The Institute will participate at the event already at the fourth time, where beside the Chinese fish soup the audience will have the chance to taste other eastern specialities.

 

According to the traditions, our teachers and students from the Institute will warmly welcome everyone who likes Chinese food, or those who would like to try this special eastern cousine.

 



pandaThis year during Children’s Day (29 May), Panda Day will take place at the Szeged Zoo.


Like last year, there will be opportunities for children to test themself at playful challenges, be it a colouring exercise or quiz questions. After accomplishing said tasks participants can win gifts: pencils, mugs and even keychains depecting pandas.

 

We welcome everyone who is interested from 10 a.m.

Visit our tent at the event on Saturday and we will show you how tasty a traditional Chinese Fish Soup can be. Everyone is welcome to meet the Chinese students studying at the University of Szeged and to try this special Asian cousine.

lotuszLotus Days at Botanical Garden of Szeged

 

1 August 2015 (Saturday) at 11:45 director Mohr Richárd will provide a lecture on the Lotus Days at the Botanical Garden of the University of Szeged.


Everyone is welcomed to the Botanical Garden of the University of Szeged on 1st August at 11:45 when Mohr Richárd director of Confucius Institute at University of Szeged will provide an exciting lecture entitled “Wonderful China”.

This year, the Lotus Days program series, which have already become a tradition, will be organized between 1st and 2nd of August, when the colleagues of the botanical garden welcome everyone with several attractions, such as the lotus flowers among many other things.


Within the framework of the program, Mohr Richárd will provide a lecture and he is aiming at introducing the wonderful natural conditions of China, and also, aims to explain the symbolical meaning of the lotus flower in Chinese culture.


Everyone is welcomed to participate!





red-pandaPanda Day at the Zoo


31 May 2015 (Sunday) at Children’s Day a Panda Day is going to be held for kids and adults as well at the Zoo of Szeged by SZTE Confucius Institute.


SZTE Confucius Institute joining to the Zoo’s Childen’s Day program series welcomes the kids and adults to participate the programs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The main headquarter of the Institute is the terrace of the Giraffe House. Here everyone is welcomed to participate in different kind of activities such as coloring, puzzle, different kind of quizzes and other games of skill. Guests are encouraged to collect stamps at each stand. Those who have collected all the stamps will be awarded a toy panda as a gift.


In addition, during the whole day, the broadcast of the Chinese Panda TV (http://en.ipanda.com/live/ ) will be on air where the everyday life of the pandas can be observed.

At the same time, like many other companies and private persons, SZTE Confucius Institute joins to adopt one of the animals of the Zoo of Szeged. Unsurprisingly, the Institute adopts the red panda.


Moreover, the Institute participates in the Zoo’s lottery at which the Institute offered 2x3 pieces of presents.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged would like to kindly invite everyone to participate in the Confucius Institutes’ Day cultural program which was first and by no means last time organized by SZTE Confucius Institute!


On 27 September, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Dugonics Square, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged offers a great variety of colorful programs on the 1st Confucius Institutes’ Day. After delivering a warm welcoming speech, the program starts from 10 o’clock when the guest can enjoy the popular Chinese lion dance. The official opening ceremony start from 11 o’clock, where Dr. Pál József vice-rector at University of Szeged, Dr. Botka László mayor of Szeged, Chen Daqiang vice-mayor of Fuzhou city and Dr. Ujhelyi István EP representative and president of SZTE Confucius Institute will deliver an opening speech. After the greetings, SZTE Confucius Institute gives a special Chinese multimedia equipment as a present to the University of Szeged and to the city of Szeged, and also, books and brass-plates as a gift to the partner institutes of SZTE Confucius Institute.


At noon, the audience can watch a martial arts presentation. During the whole day, not only Chinese and Hungarian folkdances, but also films about Chinese sightseeings will be broadcasted. Moreover, Chinese qipao, in other words Chinese fashion show will take place on the stage by Chinese professionals., who will also deliver Chinese folk music and folk dance.

Everybody who attends the event will get a little “passport”. During the day, a couple of tents will be set up in which different kind of activities will take place. In the tents the following activities will be available: Chinese language classroom, China’s natural beauties, modern cities, kung-fu, Chinese etiquette, puzzle games, drawing and calligraphy. In each tent after finishing an activity everyone gets a seal into a passport which could be changed into a nice present.

Ping_PongPing-Pong MASTERcourse with Chinese MASTERs

Ping-Pong masters were invited to Szeged by SZTE Confucius Institute, in order to teach the rules and techniques of Ping-Pong, which is known to be one of the most popular ball games in China.

Those who are interested in table tennis, and also, want to learn some tricks from real professionals should by all means come to this event!






International „Tisza” Fish Festival

In early September 2013, the 17th International „Tisza” Fish Festival is organized, which is one of the largest and most important gastronomical and cultural event in Hungary. According to statistics, Chinese people consume the most fish and seafood in the world. This is especially true for the Southern region of China, where our teachers come from. There is no doubt that Szeged style fish soup is unique – even according to our teachers and guests. This time, however, visitors can also taste typical Chinese fish dishes. Besides mouth-watering food at our stand, we also prepare some exciting programs for both children and adults! See you there!

On the second Saturday of June we invite our Chinese and Hungarian friends (CEOs, diplomats, politicians) and their families to attend a friendly football match. The play runs high: the winner is awarded with the SZTEKI Cup! We promise to entertain family members as well since we provide exciting sports facilities for all ages! What’s more, our teachers are going to teach visitors how to play Chinese featherball!

Good atmosphere is guaranteed, come and join us to support the international team!

塞格德大学孔子学院的中国影响之SZIGET节篇!

The Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged plans to „offer China” i.e. popularize Chinese culture at the Sziget Festival as well. We are preparing a great number of exciting programs obviously including Chinese music: we invite some guests to introduce Chinese musical instruments and how they sound. Beyond cultural programs, we offer our free, introductory language lessons for those who are interested in the basics of Chinese language. And this is just the tip of the iceberg…
