University of Szeged, Konfucius Institute - Ahol tudás és szándék találkozik

In November 2, 2021, the first meeting of the Preparatory Committee for Institute of Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual Education in Szeged, led by Judit Plesovszkiné Ujfaluczki, Director of the Szeged Education District Center, was held with strict epidemiological regulations.

The Coordination Center for the Development of Tourism Relations between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Budapest Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China (CNTO Budapest) have developed and launched a 4-part online education series on China tourism.

The Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association is Hungary's oldest non-governmental organization for the promotion of Hungarian-Chinese friendly and cultural relations.

The Hungarian-Chinese Chamber of Economy held the awarding ceremony of "ChinaCham Excellence Award" on the 30th of September. The ChinaCham Excellence Award was established in 2018 by the Board of ChinaCham.

On August 29, by the invitation of the Chinese Cultural Center and the Chinese Art Center, the Hungarian staff of the Confucius Institute of the University of Szeged, took part in the Autumn Festival Mooncake Cooking Program held at the Chefparadé Cooking College in Budapest. At the event, we prepared a Suzhou-style cake (苏州饼) with a bit of Hungarian taste in the spirit of fusion cuisine.

The Hungarian final of the 20th Chinese Bridge Chinese Language Competition for foreign university students was held on the afternoon of May 28, 2021, and the following day the Hungarian final of the 14th Chinese Bridge Chinese Language Competition for high school students was organized on the morning of May 29, 2021.

We are pleased to report that the International and Regional Studies Institute at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged (SZTE ÁJTK) launches its Chinese specialization in the already existing Master Program in International Studies starting from the fall semester of the academic year of 2021/2022. On 15 January 2021, after many years of effort and hard work, the Education Authority of Hungary successfully accepted all the application materials required for the accreditation procedure.

The series of landscape painting lectures continues. Landscape painting is perhaps one of the best-known topics of Chinese painting themes. Traditionally, monochrome, large-format images created with ink always have a mountain or stone /rock that symbolizes permanence, and also some form of water (spring, stream, waterfall, lake, river ...) that represents constant change. The landscape, depicted with complex symbols, tells stories with intricate line aesthetics, the mysteries of which are guided by the artist, Janisz Horváth.
