Education
Classes are held in English by teachers of Chinese as a foreign language delegated by the Chinese Language Council International. Textbooks can be borrowed from the University of Szeged Klebelsberg Library.
Besides language teaching our Institute emphasizes introducing Chinese culture as well. During the lessons students get acquainted with Chinese geography, major personalities of Chinese history, philosophical schools, traditional Chinese festivals and certain elements of Chinese behaviour and way of thinking.
Language exam
Hard-working students have the opportunity to take Chinese language exams. For children under the age of 14 we recommend YCT language exam (Youth Chinese Test), while for those above 14, HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) language exam is recommended. The next HSK language exam is held in December 2013.
School-leaving exam
Students have the opportunity to take school-leaving exams in Chinese language currently in Budapest and soon in Szeged. You can download previous exam papers from the website of the Office of Education.
Summer camps
Summer camps are excellent opportunities for students to improve their language knowledge in a native environment. The Chinese Language Council International supports Hungarian learners of Chinese to visit the country, improve their language knowledge in camps and get to know Chinese language and culture better.
Courses outside our Institute
Due to the increasing interest in Chinese courses, our Institute gives language courses in Budapest locations as well, at Central European University, tourism specialists, and also in Makó, Békéscsaba, Szatymaz, Deszk and Sándorfalva.
