Csunkingi Kulturális Nap

At 6 o’clock on the evening of October 29th (local time), the cultural exchange of “2018 Embrace China: Chongqing Cultural Week” was held at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Szeged, Hungary. The activities were divided into two parts: the exhibition of Chongqing intangible cultural heritage and the traditional Chinese folk music performance. The audience from the Szeged area felt the charm of China’s intangible cultural heritage and was enchanted by the colorful Chinese traditional music.

Once again the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged organizes a Chinese Talent show for high school students in December.

A bright moon is shining over the sea, a moment of happy reunion the world over (a line from a poem by ZHANG Jiuling, 678-740). In order to celebrate the Chinese traditional festival of the Mid-Autumn Festival and spread Chinese culture to the local populace, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged (SZTE CI) in Hungary organized a series of varied and colorful cultural activities, with a positive result.

‘Values of the World’ szimpózium

Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged has the pleasure to invite to the public symposium under the title of ‘Values of the World’ to be held on 13 October 2018 (Saturday) from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Rector’s Office, ground floor, Room V. (6720 Szeged, Dugonics square 13.).

On 8 October 2018 (Monday) at 12.10 the Hungarian language major students of Shanghai International Studies University together with the colleagues of SZTE Confucius Institute will recite Petőfi Sándor’s famous poem entitled ‘Would I were a river’ both in Hungarian and Chinese language.

This is the first time when the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged organizes a Chinese Bamboo Ink Painting Workshop at the Szent-Györgyi Agora in Szeged.

YCT language exam on 17 November 2018 at SZTE Confucius Institute

This is the second time that SZTE Confucius Institute organizes YCT Chinese language exam for children under the age of 14. The date of the exam is 17 November 2018.

SZTE Confucius Institute welcomes everyone to Confucius Day. The event has two parts. Firstly, from 3 p.m., our guests can take part in different kind of activities where everyone can learn more about China and its culture.

Together with our friends and students, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged celebrates the arrival of autumn, the holiday of family and friendship on 25 September. According to Chinese traditions, the Moon is the most complete on the sky on this day. Chinese families get together at this time of the year to admire the shining full moon and eat some delicious mooncakes.

On 19 September 2018 (Wednesday) 5 p.m., Janisz Horváth, graphic artist, typographist and calligrapher, will provide a lecture on our next Tea House.

On September 1st, the annual International Fish Soup Festival was held on the Tisa River in Szeged.

Speech contest

The purpose of the “One Belt And One Road” in My Eyes Essay and Speech Contest is to provide Hungarian college students with an opportunity to share their own fabulous stories with “One Belt And One Road” and create a platform for communication and exchange of ideas. In order to enhance the understanding of the “One Belt And One Road” and gain better promotion and inheritance of the “One Belt And One Road” initiative.

SZTE Beiratkozási Hét

Local time August 27th to 30th, in the registration week of the University of Szeged in Hungary, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged (SZTE CI) held a series of Chinese cultural experience activities on the first floor of the University Library, aiming to motivate more Hungarian college students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture, and actively participate in Chinese studies at Confucius Institutes.

On the morning of September 5th, local time, the first batch of Hungarian majors of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), accompanied by Dr. Anett Árvay, Director of the faculty of the Hungarian Studies, the University of Szeged, and Dr. Durst Péter, came to meet with the faculty of the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged (SZTE CI)

On the morning of July 30th (local time), Shanghai Songjiang District CPPCC Chairman Shao Linchu, Secretary General Zhang Huijun, District Tourism Bureau Director Jin Dongyun, District Education Bureau Deputy Director Fu Bingjian, Deputy Secretary of the Health and Family Planning Committee Song Li, District Sijing Town Party Committee Deputy Secretary Shi Peili visited the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged. The SZTE CI Hungarian Director, Moore Richard, presided over the reception.

SISU

From July 15th to 28th, 13 summer campers from the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged, Hungary, led by Ms. Li Huijun, a Chinese teacher of SZTE CI, conducted a variety of language and culture studies and field trips in Beijing and Shanghai. The events have enhanced the campers’ understanding of the long-standing Chinese culture.

Konfuciusz Tábor

During the camp, children can get familiar with Chinese language and culture by taking their first steps to this unique and exotic country. Such creative workshops, songs, dances and game activities are going to be organized which are associated with Chinese culture.

The leadership of the University of Szeged and the university-owned Uni-Med Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding as well as a Joint Declaration of Interest with a high-level delegation from Shaanxi Province and with the Rector of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine at the Rector’s Office on 16 April 2018.

Szeged, Feb. 13 -- Directors, Chinese language teachers and volunteers from the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged, Hungary, were invited to Budapest for the Spring Festival Reception for Hungarian-Chinese teachers and volunteers in 2018, hosted by the Chinese embassy in Hungary.

Budapest, Feb. 17 -- The 2nd round of "Joyful Spring Festival/ Beauty of Chinese Spring" Activity was successfully held in China- Central Europe Business and Logistics Cooperation Zone in the 15th District of Budapest. The Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged participated in the event as a co-organizer. Wang Zheng, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese embassy in Hungary, as well as Németh Angéla, deputy of the 15th district in Budapest, were present.

Budapest, Feb. 17 – The Chinese Embassy in Hungary held its 2018 Chinese New Year reception in Budapest at 6 o’clock in the evening. Around 400 were present, including Hungarian dignitaries, embassy staff, eminent Hungarian Chinese, representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises and Chinese students studying in Hungary.
