We are pleased to report that the International and Regional Studies Institute at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged (SZTE ÁJTK) launches its Chinese specialization in the already existing Master Program in International Studies starting from the fall semester of the academic year of 2021/2022. On 15 January 2021, after many years of effort and hard work, the Education Authority of Hungary successfully accepted all the application materials required for the accreditation procedure.

The specialization was established with the support of the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged. Besides SZTE ÁJTK professors, several other well-known and acknowledged guest lecturers will be actively involved in the education, including famous, internationally recognized Chinese researchers, diplomats, and economic experts.

During this time, all our students will have the opportunity to gain an insight into, among many other things, the state and legal system of the People's Republic of China, its geopolitical-geostrategic possibilities, its foreign policy, as well as its modern history. Besides, our course list also include classes focusing on South-East Asia, the Middle East, and also the economy and economic history of China. Last but not least, those who choose this specialization will also have the opportunity to get a glimpse on Chinese Cross-Culture.

This program is unique in Hungary: as it is only the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged which launches a Chinese specialization in Hungarian with a Master program in International Studies.

The International and Regional Studies Institute welcomes everyone who are interested in the specialization. Further information can be obtained from Dr. László Gulyás at the following e-mail address gulyas.laszlo@juris.u-szeged.hu.
