The Chinese Filmweek was opened in Szeged

The Chinese Movie Week, organized by the Confucius Institute at University of Szeged, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China (SAPPRFT), and co-organized by the Belvárosi Cinema and the H-Forest Media was officially opened on 7th November.

The local audience could admire the traditional spectacular Chinese dragon dance, and could also listen the traditional Mongolian horse-head violin accompanied by a Mongolian "throat singer' performance.


Richárd Mohr, the Hungarian director of the Confucius Institute and István Ujhelyi, member of the European Parliament and founder of the Confucius Institute welcomed the guests. Mr. Tong Gang, deputy minister of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China (SAPPRFT) and Mr. János Auer member of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority and the Media Council also welcomed the guests. On behalf of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Guo Xiaoguang cultural counselor gave his welcome speech.


After the opening ceremony the first movie of the Chinese Movie Week (Wolf Totem) started and we were really glad that there were no empty seats left in the cinema.
