On 27 January, Confucius Tea House was second time organized by SZTE Confucius Institute and Szeged Coffee House. The guests could listen to an interesting lecture while drinking traditional Chinese tea. The lecturer was Kusai Sándor former Beijing Ambassador who was talking with Mohr Richárd director of SZTE Confucius Institute.
Tea serving and tasting has a special role in Chinese culture. According to Chinese, good tea is essential for a good conversation. For this reason, one of the Chinese colleagues of the Institute introduced the traditional way of tea serving. Everybody could taste this hot beverage.
The lecturer, Kusai Sándor, asserted that similarly to other countries, it is very important to China to introduce its culture, country and traditions to the rest of the world. That is one of the reason why so many Confucius Institutes have been set up in the world.
The former ambassador highlighted the fact that although the main engine of the Hungarian – Chinese relations is the economy, China is such a unique civilization that without knowing its features, it is almost impossible to build political and economic bridge between the two countries. He also emphasized that even if China is the most influential and potential country in the whole world, Hungarians knowledge about China is very poor. Instead of the mass-produce products China has a rich economy and flourishing culture. It is worth to learn about it.
