Come and celebrate with us the 1st Confucius Institute Day on 27 September at Dugonics square!

The Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged would like to kindly invite everyone to participate in the Confucius Institutes’ Day cultural program which was first and by no means last time organized by SZTE Confucius Institute!

On 27 September, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Dugonics Square, the Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged offers a great variety of colorful programs on the 1st Confucius Institutes’ Day. After delivering a warm welcoming speech, the program starts from 10 o’clock when the guest can enjoy the popular Chinese lion dance. The official opening ceremony start from 11 o’clock, where Dr. Pál József vice-rector at University of Szeged, Dr. Botka László mayor of Szeged, Chen Daqiang vice-mayor of Fuzhou city and Dr. Ujhelyi István EP representative and president of SZTE Confucius Institute will deliver an opening speech. After the greetings, SZTE Confucius Institute gives a special Chinese multimedia equipment as a present to the University of Szeged and to the city of Szeged, and also, books and brass-plates as a gift to the partner institutes of SZTE Confucius Institute.


At noon, the audience can watch a martial arts presentation. During the whole day, not only Chinese and Hungarian folkdances, but also films about Chinese sightseeings will be broadcasted. Moreover, Chinese qipao, in other words Chinese fashion show will take place on the stage by Chinese professionals., who will also deliver Chinese folk music and folk dance.

 

Everybody who attends the event will get a little “passport”. During the day, a couple of tents will be set up in which different kind of activities will take place. In the tents the following activities will be available: Chinese language classroom, China’s natural beauties, modern cities, kung-fu, Chinese etiquette, puzzle games, drawing and calligraphy. In each tent after finishing an activity everyone gets a seal into a passport which could be changed into a nice present.
