More than 170 Chinese and 240 Hungarian government leaders and businessmen registered for the conference organized for the second time. The Deputy Prime Minister declared the Chinese-Hungarian twin-city agreements important and useful: this was one of the topics participants had the chance to discuss during the afternoon consultations besides major emphasis on topics including administration, economic development and tourism enhancement.

The event was also attended by HE. Xiao Qian, recently accredited Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Hungary. In his welcoming speech he highlighted that Chinese-Hungarian relationship goes back to 63 years. Since then, partnership has strengthened by a great number of significant visits and 23 twin-city contacts have been established. The upswing of mutual trade between the two countries is also an indicator of the fact that Hungary has become one of the most important partners of China – emphasized the Ambassador.
