8 Chinese exchange students received their degrees at the Faculty of Law at the University of Szeged

On 14 January, 2013 after successfully completing a one-semester educational program, 8 students of the Shanghai University of Politics and Law (SHUPL) received their degrees in the main hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Szeged

Students were officially presented with their degrees by Dr Imre Szabó, Dean of the Faculty and Law and Dr Krisztina Karsai, Vice-Dean. Educational referent of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Hungary, Mr Li Xinhua, also attended the ceremony and emphasized in his speech that the Embassy considers the second Hungarian Confucius Institute to be of crucial importance in spreading Chinese language and culture in Hungary. At the same time, the cooperation of the University of Szeged and the Shanghai International Studies University is expected to be a fruitful one. Mr Li Xinhua also highlighted that student mobility is going to be extended by teacher exchange programs and common research programmes in the near future.


The Confucius Institute at the University of Szeged, as a major supporter of this current educational project, was represented by Lívia Szentmártoni, Director and Zhang Xuemei, Vice-Director. The ceremony was also attended by Dr Máté Dömötör, General Secretary of the University of Szeged and all the teachers of the Chinese students. The ceremony was closed by a champagne toast and taking photos of the attendants.


From the spring semester (March, 2013) additional exchange students will arrive from China to study at the Faculty of Law.
